Astro 7404 Damaged Lug Nut Socket

Saw these in the Matco flyer, looks like they'd be handy.

I have a short chrome 3/8 set of that exact style of socket pattern. They say in Astros description they are fine for forward turning as well as removal but IMO they are designed to grab the fastener when undoing it & that's what I'd use them for. I would not use them as everyday lug sockets, rather on occasions when you come across damaged fasteners. They do work well as a specialty socket.

Unfortunately they are very hit or miss I have those and the shallow sockets and I'd say they only work about 25% of the time

CTA also has some odd sized flip sockets for remove acorn nuts when you lost the chrome part. can be useful.
