Sir, I ordered and received a 7897 a ball joint kit last week. It arrived last week. I purchased this from Amazon on line. In preparation to replace the ball joints on my F150, I attempted to rotate the end housing that sets on top of the ball joint. I would not move. Upon further investigation there was a piece of rubber wedging the pieces together. I pulled the end piece off and the "O" ring fell out in three pieces. I called the customer service and was politely requested to email my proof of purchase. Yea, like I keep all this documentation. All this hassle for a "O" ring!. Give me a break. So now I'm getting just a bit agitated and drove to my local NAPA dealer and walked out with "two" "O" rings. I did not requires the whole part number #7897-05. Just the darn "O" rings. Thanks Astro.

So you're upset because the seller asked you for proof of purchase before they would send you a replacement part? That sounds perfectly reasonable. Especially since (by your own admission) they were polite in doing so.

What does not sound reasonable is that you bought something on Amazon last week and you can't muster any proof of purchase. It's Amazon! They track your order history and all your order details are saved for you. All you had to do was send them the order number or even just take a screen shot of the orders page.

No sir I do not. I do not keep documentation that is not required. I do not have the order number. And I will add I did not save the box the tool arrived in. Badly damaged I will add.

I did go back to Amazon and retrieved the number mentioned. It was actually easy. Thank you for your assistance, Ken

First, astro has some of the best customer service I have ever seen.

Second, if you bought it on amazon your proof of purchase is so easy to produce. Go to your amazon account and under orders you will see invoice. Screen shot and send to astro. Two minutes and done.

It's reasonable for companies to ask for proof of purchase. Really not that big of a deal when it's so easy to give them what they want to get your replacement.

Just shoot me a pm with an address and you'll be on your way.
The o-ring simply serves to keep the foot of the drive bolt from falling out.

If you're calling in, we'll usually need someone to show us they own the tool before we send them parts for free - even if it's just an o-ring I suppose in this case. Sometimes even just emailing or texting us a picture works.

Chris, Information (address) was sent to customer service. I apologize for my actions. If something is not right at first I tend to go into a bit of rage. I am human and prone to make errors. Thanks for your crew in straightening me out. However, the part in question was improperly installed. China?
