The smaller impacts are one of the coolest tool innovations I've seen. I always hated how big impacts were when I worked at a dealership.

The astro double ended pilot drill bits have been one of the best consumable additions to my toolbox in a long time, such a great simple idea!

most innovative has to be either the DW780 light that gives your cut line using the blade's shadow, or the strobe light in the festool jigsaw. Simple solution for simple problem and not having to reinvent the wheel.

however the 'razor sharp' paper/cardboard sharpening/honing disc is the coolest. literally have reinvented the wheel.

Random post. :lol_hitti

Vampliers. Saw them advertised a few years back and bought sets for the entire male population in my immediate family.

Woodworkers quick release vise. I know, they have been around for many years. I never knew about them. Ran out and bought a Rockler for my new bench.

Well I will throw my hat in. As for the neatest tool that has been offered lately, while not new, I'm currently digging on those ratcheting/rotating tubing cutters that a few manufacturers are offering. Been doing quite a bit of brake work lately and sometimes I have to fight the temptation of just whacking lines with a die grinder and calling it done due to my cutters just flat out giving me a hard time.

Thanks Astro for the chance. Love your support on this forum. Never had a bad tool from you yet. My latest addition is the 210QL die grinder and its great. Many unique features and lots of quiet power.

Here's my unique handy tool:

CruzTOOLS SH2 MaxHook Spring Hook https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009D2M4L4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Makes installing and removing exhaust springs on snowmobiles and the like so much easier. Able to push or pull springs.

For me, it has been Knipex pliers-wrenches. They have replaced Crescent wrenches and I also use them where I would have used Channellocks/Knipex Cobras in the past. They are much more gentle on hardware.

Thanks for doing this giveaway! Love the support from Astro on the forum, and love all the new products yall have coming out.

For me, I have a set of Cornwell open end ratcheting wrenches on order. I cant find a picture of them, but the open end ratchets on various different type of fastener heads, and has no moving parts like other similar designs. I will be using them on limited clearence 12 point bolt heads that i cannot get a standard ratchet wrench over.

I really like the Lisle 36050 valve keeper/remover tool. One of the quickest ways to remove valve spring retainers short of custom building a special rig.

Your new metric ratcheting flare nut set. That 18mm has been beyond handy for one application I do all the time. Another nice quality tool at a price point that can't be beat.

the m18 mid torque impact wrench for me, hard to think a cordless impact that small has that much power.

The most innovative tool that I really have been wanting lately is the CAT S60 smartphone with a thermal imager built into it. I think not having to remember to bring a thermal camera with you but just always having one handy is a great idea. I've thought of a few times in the past where it would have been great to just whip out the phone, check something and continue on.

Coolest tool I've used recently is exhaust hanger pliers (Lisle brand), makes removing even the toughest hangers come off in seconds.

Cool tool I have seen lately is from Birzman, their pre set Torque Drivers in 4,5,6Nm. Simple and prevents stripping aluminum threads on bike related parts.

"Coolest/most innovative tool you seen lately from any brand" :

I haven't seen anything lately that fits the bill. I guess I need to spend less time visiting estate sales for old hand tools.

Thanks for the chance. I am pretty fascinated by the quality amd variety of battery powered tools lately. I was reading about a stihl battery powered cut off saw that came out last year.

not trying for bonus kudos here, but i'll be honest the one tool everybody looks at in my box and says "what the hell is that?" is the astro 9477 crimper set.

after i show them what it is and show how it works and how easy it is to switch between dies. everybody is amazed at how awesome it is. and how cheap as well considering comparable setups cost 3-4x as much if you want quick change with lots of dies available.

Having recently purchased and usined them for the first time yesterday I can say that the Knipex Pliers Wrench is awesome and quite innovative. However, knowing this is GJ and people rant and rave about these things I'd venture a guess that these have been mentioned in this at least a few times already.

So scratch that my vote goes towards The Dust Deputy Cyclone Separator. What a fantastic concept! All shop vacs should have some sort of cyclone incorporated into them right from the factory.

Appreciate the contest here Astro always curious what new and innovative stuff you guys are coming out with. Im slowly building up my collection of your tools; I've had your tire inflator for years now and recently acquired your onyx grinder set and badass 40SL light. Thanks for the great products as well as fantastic customer support.

Does the teacher who gave my kid about 10 hours worth of homework on Easter flippin' weekend to help prepare for a stupid standardized test count? That's innovative, and I'd definitely say a tool.

Aside from that, I'd have to say the piston ring compressor sleeves that are machined to a precise size. Maybe they aren't that new, but I didn't know about their aftermarket availability (used to see them in Romeo Engine Plant when I was an engineer at Ford) until recently. Will never use the old style again.

Honestly, my 3/8 nano impact is the most used tool in my box lately. Great for caliper and caliper bracket bolts.
