Thanks. Almost makes up for missing the BOGO deal

I was on the fence last week about ordering a single Irwin 10mm on eBay to complete the set I picked up at Lowes a few months ago, but of all the 5-sizes it skipped 10mm. Glad I skipped. I'd rather the Astro were 3/8" drive, but I suppose one of those tools you hope you don't need, but jumping for joy when it saves the day.

I would rather have 3/8” drive in this size range too, but one of the 1/2 to 3/8 drive adapters or its cheaper counterparts should work fine if needed.

Anyone get a shipping notification yet? I'm starting to think it was a too good to be true item & not going to happen.

they are chro moly so i assumed they were impact rated.

also many of the videos i have watched for type of extractor have been with a manual wrench.

I stand corrected. I responded previously from my phone, I misread the description on the small screen.

I was just inspecting the AP set, they look pretty good but I was somewhat surprised to see a 1 year warranty. I don’t care, but I thought AP was like Sunex or others with lifetime.

It’s weird that at least a couple of us have gotten our orders and others were canceled. I wonder if they shipped out what they had in stock and then found the pricing mistake when they went to order more.

Pretty much. I got an email from Amazon saying the shipment expectation was not met by the seller & my CC would not be charged. Recommended contacting the seller so I did.

They replied quickly right after my order was cancelled saying that the pricing was an error & my order did not ship cause they were out of stock.

The good price on these was not sold by Amazon, but a 3rd party. So they probably had very limited stock

HF set has saved my *** a few times already. Dont know how comfortable i'd be using either set with impact, i'd imaging it will just shave the bolt off to even smaller.
Dont think this type of tool should be used with an impact period.

The Astro's box claims it can handle up to a 90% rounded fastener. I hope I never have one that bad, but if it gets the bigger out, I wasn't planning on keeping the bad bolt anyway

I think being able to handle 90% case is more to do with the flank bit design rather than the ability of one set vs the other.

Also I noticed that the HF set in the past has had coupons for price less than $20. Unfortunately I couldn't find any coupon that is still valid.
