Anybody have any experience with this? Main applications is semi pro use in a small engine side biz, and some car work. Just looking to speed up my time. And i hate using air ratchets, because they use so much air and are so slow. Also this looks to have a dial to adjust air so i wont over torque fasteners. Plus this is also the least expensive one ive found so far, and is a shorter design. Unlike the IR version that looks like a drill. So anyone have any experience or opinions on this model?

always wanted one of those, use my cordless stuff alot more though, the little 7.2 snappy is great for small engine stuff and actually is recomended for torqing B&S head bolts. had a mac 3/8 (air) that same style that blew up.

Well I would love a little snap on, but id rather pay 50 and drag an air hose.

Wow i guess only two people have any input on a 1/4 air impact? i guess since this isnt about polishing ratchets its not as popular.

Dont cheap out on that heavy under powered thing, dragging a air hose on that little gun is not worth your time. Go cordless with a Lithium-ion battery trust me. You will thank us all later.

If you work in a shop, you don't want an air hose inside a car. You don't want to be back flagged time to pay for detail to clean up after that air hose that drags on the ground and picks up everything and stains the seats and carpets.

Seems like this is a good spot for a 12v lithium ion impact. Bosch, Makita, etc. A couple of advantages: No hose to drag around, and most of these little impacts have an LED on the front, which can be pretty useful in dark spots (under a dash, etc). They're pretty small, and very light.

My Makita will do 60 ft-lbs (rated for more torque than the Astro), which should be plenty for 1/4 fasteners. Also has an adjustable clutch, so you can dial in torque without having to use torque sticks and such.

Here's a link to the driver I have:

But I hear the Bosche and Milwaukee equivalents are also very nice. Haven't played with one, so I can't corroborate, but they're great brands so I have no reason to doubt that they're as good as people say they are.

I have an unbranded one that I used to use for trim and small stuff, it wasn't very good (it was made of Chinesium) and I often used my IR 3/8 instead. Now with the cordless LiIon tools I don't use the small impacts anymore.

Im not too worried about using this inside a car, I have done trim work very few times, and im also not a pro mechanic. Just would be using this at nights in my shop doing small engine repairs for my side business.

I guess ill order it on payday. It should be a huge time saver. I usually run my 3/8 earthquake, but its just such a beast i dont like using it on the small stuff, but its such a timesaver.

I just got the IR 1/4" impact and I absolutely love that thing. I also got the gearwrench master impact set in that drive size... I'd say I could probably take apart 80% of all bolts/nuts on all my cars and my quad... If you get it, don't forget a good impact set. But definitely worth it

Already own this grey pneumatic set, I hate when people use chromes on impacts, its just so unprofessional, might as well pull out a claw hammer to knock a brake rotor loose!

I got it today. It is super small! and has 4 speeds, One handed forward/reverse. looks like its pretty powerful in the 4th speed but turns down pretty slow too. Cant wait to get some new work in the door and start speeding up my times.

mine is at least 10 years old, very first air tool I bought. the build quality is on par with any truck brand. the power is actually infinite adjustable, no clicks.

but I haven't used it much after getting the Milwaukee cordless 1/4 impact drivers. for a tool that small, the annoying thing is to drag the air hose around.

Yep! looks just like mine, I see your cheesy stickers came off the sides. I guess they changed the knob on the bottom to make it four clicks instead of an infinite dial. I would have preferred a dial instead of settings but for 50 bucks i cant complain. It feel solid. I took it out to the garage and it did fine on some 10mm bolts.
