I purchased a Astro Pneumatic 7346 fluid extractor recently and thought I would post a quick review if anyone's interested.

The unit seems to be robust, the hand pump works smoothly and the pneumatic part of it also works fine. It comes with a gauge and the unit holds 4 gallons. It gets pretty heavy when its full.

The hoses they supply are next to useless. The black hose couplings are hard and leak, pretty well impossible to seal, so you lose vacuum. I would have though this company would supply better hoses. The larger hose is too stiff to bend and not very long.

I ended up bending a 3/8 tube and attaching a shut off valve, adding a long 10 foot flexible hose, use some brass fittings and am using 2 air brake tubes that are 3/8 and 1/4 inch. The 1/4 inch air brake hose fits snuggly into the 3/8 hose with no loss of vacuum and no hose collapses under full vacuum.

Its a nice unit with the valve and hose modifications.

I bought an inexpensive vac pump and made a jar with 2 hoses that i use for fluid removal.
Very handy working on cars, use it on brake fluid, trans, powersteering fluid ect, wish i did this years ago.
Thanks for the review

Please keep us updated on this unit’s longevity. I’ve gone through 4 Mityvacs IIRC and I’m looking for something that’s durable.
