Astro pneumatic slide hammer

Finally got my Astro pneumatic slide hammer. This thing is awesome!!! Way more thump than I thought it would have. Will be using it tomorrow afternoon and will put it thru its paces.

Nice looking! I am anxious to hear your results.
I have been eyeing one to remove older ringshank nails from a metal roof. Each nail is a wrestling match with prybar risking damage to roof. Would require some sort of nail head attachment, but curious if after your tests, you think it would have the horsepower.

Is it your first slide hammer, or what other ones have you used in the past?

First pneumatic one. We have lots of manual slide hammers at work but most require a lot of room versus this does not.

I got my shipping notification last week but I'm out of town until this weekend so I won't even be able to "play" with it when it arrives.

I have a "manual" OTC slide hammer that has worked wonders but I've needed to find/make some new attachments for it for a while. Maybe I'll end up collecting more attachments for the Astro if it works really well.

@gizardlizard, what's the thread size/pitch on the Astro?

Seriously, what an awesome idea! I just saw Clay’s video tour of your booth at SEMA, and now I must have the pneumatic slide hammer. When do you think it might be available? Also how about the new air hammer tools with the proprietary steel? Are they available yet? I’m thinking about picking up...

In all seriousness, the reason I probably forgot about it is because when I usually add tools to my ongoing list and I must've forgotten to add this. I still want it!
