I picked up an Astro 1240 compact pneumatic angle grinder recently. The blue one. I rather like it. It seems to have one of those "needle style" grease ports at the angle head, but the manual doesn't say anything about injecting grease - only mentions air tool oil. Does Chris or anybody else have an opinion about injecting grease in that port (which I assume lubricates the bevel gears) ?
Grease it once a year to two depending on amount of use, or when additional heat noise or vibration from the head is noticed.

I ended up with a few extra sets of Astro universal impact sockets. Listed them in the classifieds at a pretty nice discount off the cheapest price I could find online if any GJ members would like them - I'm very impressed with these, especially for the money. Most of my tools are Snap-on but I think I'd definitely buy more Astro impacts in the future.

I just happened to notice this 78305 Nano “drive size adapter set”. Every time I see a Nano family tool I feel like I need to buy it just to keep the family complete.

Anybody using this?

Just got a set. i saw elsewhere comments like "doesn't this just turn the socket wrench back into a ratchet wrench" but for me i use them like impact rated drive size adapters, 1/4" to 1/2" is just pretty cool too. Then with the ADDED benefit they can be driven from the side or with one of those ratchet wrenches as well. Doesn't have to be one or the other.

Nano hex bit sockets— first used them yesterday and they allowed me to get out some VERY rusty differential plugs without stripping the drive. GREAT JOB, Astro. I was certain the huge torque required to get those plugs out was going to strip that little 10mm hex. Nope, not when it’s a well made bit socket like these Nanos.

Which part number are you referring to? Or set part number.

My Astro Razor super-thin ratcheting wrenches arrived today...

Wow, another home run from Astro! Innovation, quality, aggressive pricing and availability is a great combo, keep it up!

More detailed impressions later, but for now, here is a 30 second sneak peak.

JBTools has them in stock right now.

I bought mine from Amazon., ordered them a while back, they were back ordered, and they arrived yesterday. $75 at the time. If ordering them today, I'd likely go JB Tools, they tend to have great prices on Astro stuff.

I got the "back in stock" email the other night. I gave in and ordered a set of the Razor wrenches.

I needed a set of stud installer/remover sockets, and JB Tools had a better set and had both the sockets and wrenches in-stock with a better price than Amazon.

I hate UPS, but finally got my Razor wrenches. Initial impressions are good. I like the satin finish (reminds me of newer Tekton), they feel good in the hand and the ratchet mechanism feels smooth and tight (in a good way). Also feel like the head angle is more pronounced. I also like that they are "less bulky" than typical ratchet wrenches.

Attached a few pictures with my comparable Gearwrench set. Speaking of which, I "demoted" the Gearwrench set from my main box to the car trunk kit (except the 21mm, 22mm and 24mm).

Anyway, I think the Astro set is definitely a good deal if you can get them for around $70 (JB Tools). Prices do change and will vary.

Amazon shows in stock for around $90. The Gearwrench set on Amazon is $95, though it does come with a few larger sizes. The Gearwrench is made in China, the Astro made in Taiwan.

I got my Astro Razor set in today also. They definitely are thinner.
For example, the 19mm is 8.5mm thick vs my Williams 19mm is 14.25mm.
I know I've had times in the past where I couldn't get a ratcheting wrench to fit. It'll be a nice justification for buying these if/when it happens again .

I also received my set, and did exactly what you did with the Gearwrench versions. I've already put these new ones to work. They do the thing!

Did you peeps notice the 78320 NANO Hex/Torx/Triple Square bit set is now listed on the Astro Website?

Ditched the foam for two opposed rails. Listed on Amazon as a place holder. Hopefully, it's available soon.

Just saw it today. The rail design looks brilliant. Probably going to need to pick those up, hopefully I'll have the similar 1/4 drive Gripedge Hex next week.

I wonder how much thinner those are than a low profile hex like Sunex or VIM on a dual 80 in 3/8 drive? I've guessing ~50% thinner.

They look sweet. I think the rail design will end up taking up more toolbox space than regular ones because you need clearance to pull them out?

Kinda choked these are finally coming out. I have the 94411M and 94410T. Have often wished they had the external hex like the 78319.

Astro said at the time that there was no plans for the external. To be fair they've held up and I've got lots of use out of them. I just don't know if I can justify buying the new ones when mine still work.

On the plus side, the sets I have have a wider spread of sizes than the 78320

IDK, it has to be slimmer than two side by side rails, right? If they were deep sockets I'd agree it's a non-starter. Space wise it has to be competitive.

Am I the only one hoping they sell the socket rail separately?
The rail is same as Ares, Olsa, Neiko, Kobalt, Performance tool, aluminum rails. Ares has the best size selection and Olsa the color selection. You can mix and match parts and pieces form them all. I've done it. Astro has some with trays to hold multiple rails

They don't have the triangle rail that Astro for that new set.

This is a set I've been looking forward to getting.

I saw others liking that style rail. It looks unique and kind of cool I guess, but can't say I'm a fan of it. It looks like with the sockets sticking outward like that it takes up too much drawer real estate for no real reason that I can tell over just a typical double rail standing straight up.

For some reason, I thought it would have torx, metric hex, and SAE hex instead of triple square.

I'd like some SAE hex nano outside hex sockets. I guess you can't please everyone.

Looks like initial pricing is up. A little steep to start with

Amazon pricing bounces around, especially with new products or before something is actually available.
I would shop around once they "hit the streets".

I bought my Razor wrench set for about $20 cheaper than Amazon on JBTools.

That said, the smaller individual socket sets that Astro has usually sell for around the $40 mark, so I could see a set that technically includes 3 individual sets going for around $120.

Does anyone have the email address for submitting an Astro warranty claim? Their website has no email address or warranty submittal form.

How many of you peeps got an email from JBTools today about the razor ratcheting wrench set being back in stock and were able to purchase a set before JB sold out again? Looking at the time the email popped up and when I was able to click the link tells me JB sold out again in less than 3 hours. Sometimes you're the bug, sometimes you're the windshield
