I guess they're getting popular and/or supply is dwindling.

I got an email awhile back, but they still had 9 or 10 in stock a day or two later when I ordered my set. Glad I gave in and just ordered them while I still could.

Amazon still shows them available, albeit at a higher price (as also previously discussed).

Just as a heads up. I purchase LOTS of tools.... I use Zoro, JBtools, Jersey Discount, Amazon, etc. Coincidently I've had the need to interact with customer service with all of these companies recently on one minor issue or another, and all were excellent, except, I'm sorry to say, Jersey Discount.

Their communication has been sub-par and the issue remains unresolved. It happened to be on an Astro product, which is why I mention it here. Less than impressed, and I'll personally hesitate a bit to use them in the future.

As for as the Astro Razor wrenches go, I've had mine a few weeks now, and they have become my primary set of metric ratcheting wrenches, bumping several other sets of out of primary position. Really nice product. Mine came from Amazon at the $75 price point, I ordered them a while ago, they where OOS at JBtools and just showed an extended delivery (at the time) on Amazon.

@Astro_Pneumatic_Tools apologies if this has already been discussed, but for those of us who bought the original 78314 set is there an expansion set to cover the additional sizes in the 78319 kit? Or at least the ability to buy the 3/8" 21, 22 and 24mm sizes?

You have to order it from Astro Parts via their 1800 number. You get a longer rail and 21-24mm sockets. It's not very expensive. It's been a couple of years since I did it.

Taking out an Equinox 2.4 2013 today, could have used that reversing feature. ONLY thing that would ratchet on a bellhousing bolt was nano 18mm with ratcheting wrench. Did not DARE go too far, but sure as hell would have it would reverse! Off to Matco website.....probably grab those damn thin ratcheting wrenches as well, even though I have yet to think of a use for them......

I swear Chris said they were going to make the razor wrenches in SAE, and I thought I even saw them on presale (listed as out of stock) somewhere, but now I can find them at all. Am I crazy?

Those thin wrenches are also offered by various asian brands, most notable Deen from factory gear. I could swear they had SAE sizes when I went last month. Forgot to take pictures of the sizes and open end. I'm surprised it has taken this long for another company to rebrand them for the USA market.

Either different source or mix match of info, as until this year these did not exist beyond prototypes. Not familiar with Deen, so could be a different source, or they havent had them long. But the tooling for these where they're being made only recently came to be.

Now Chris if you make them in a reversible version I'm in. Just don't like non-reversible wrenches.

Not sure where they are sourcing them from but they are identical in design to your rebranded versions. They have the same angle in the open end. They have them for at least a year. I would say most American companies are behind in releasing or rebranding tools from Asia.

Deen is a premium Japanese house line from the very popular factory gear tool store. They mainly rebrand German and Taiwan tools. They do handles inhouse so everything has a different feel to it. Knowing the owner, I could say he probably looked at the wrenches before anyone else and that's how he got them so fast.

I'd be surprised of someone doesn't figuere a less expensive way to get a set here than that ebay seller, but I looked and didn't see any for a comparable full set. In any case I doubt they'll get much praise here on GJ, or in this thread at least where people were complaining they couldn't get the set for $69+ shipping (or pad your order to get to the $100 free ship option) instead of the $89+ free shipping.

Much cheaper here in Japan, but yeah stick with the astro if you want cheaper with a warranty. The first picture makes them look satin 😂. They aren't satin at all, shiny chrome. Also the angle of the open is more noticeable in person. Like I said before those have been out at least 1y. So I'm not sure if those "prototypes"where actually fully fledged items. Or someone else beat them to the market.

My next time in Tokyo I will take some more photos of the full line.

Have you ever looked into making a set of driveline sockets for driveshaft bolts? I was looking at some of your tools on amazon and saw the torque saver impact extension socket set. Think sunex makes a driveline set similar to that with the extension built in but they are the common sizes for driveshaft bolts and think mainly 12 pt. Just an idea if you haven't already thought about making them.

Can only release so many details, we're a popular brand to window shop these days. Can't make them super thin with our ball and cup design before 1/2" impacts these days will eat them for lunch. 10 years ago we could have got away with more.

Yes, it's not a large set but will include 18mm for that reason. That's about as much as I'll get into these for now.

Thanks for sharing what you could. Looking forward to them, have looked at the sunex set a few times but never pulled the trigger. If you need a tester you should have my address on file, LOL. Really glad astro got into the specialty socket sets, have bought a bunch of your specialty tools over the years but in the last few years my socket drawer has become more and more astro everytime you come out with new set.

I never gave much thought to it, that probably is why the mid torque impacts are so popular these days. Glad to hear that the Driveline set is coming, I've been looking for one.
I figured Amazon was cutting that pretty close to the bone with the Nano socket ratchet because they won't do free shipping on it unless it's worth a $35 order.
