Just received the AP 3018 Digital Tire Inflator and must say that one one beefy, well built tool.... Got it via amazon with many good reviews.

One question: Does AP also make the Blue Point TPGDL100B? Looks the same but has dual chuck and a an outrageous price of $124.95?
Any other differences in the quality of the two?

Hello Tarheelgarage,
First off, thank you for support our Brand, and providing such great feedback on our tool.
To answer your question, we are not part of making the Blue Point version, but in terms of quality, i can guarantee that our version is the very best!
Enjoy it!

I have that one ( purple handles ) about 2 1/2 years now with zero issues. I am very happy with the quality of the tool.

While I like most AP tools I have purchased, I can not recommend that hose clamp tool. Mine broke after one year. Seems a little on the cheapo side.

The one you need (costs more) is this one. Mayhew.

Regarding the inquires to our 9409A hose clamp pliers, we recently redesigned them to make improvements.

Also, if you have ever had an issue with an Astro tool, contact our customer service department and they will go the distance to help you out.

I recently purchased this stripped hex tool kit, honestly it has not worked on one damaged hex bolt yet, I bought them for a bolt that notoriously strips on an engine lift bracket. needless to say, they're just sitting there not being used.

kinda wanted that goto kit, but i guess I have not found it yet.

When it comes to a stripped bolt head or nut, I found it best to haveva variety of sets, when one fails go tobthe next one, irwin sets, some mjsmatched pieces from random accumulations of tools, easy outs, and yes even that cheap socket from walmart with the pins in it has done the trick. Some times I think it would be easier to get a set of left hand drill bits with a reverse tap and stick a reverse thread grade 8 in it for broken bolt heads

Hello Rivertucky,
I am really sorry to hear that. This must be an extremely damaged hex bolt if that is the case. All the testing we did in-house on this item proved to be successful, so I am shocked to hear that.

Is there something we can do?

The AP door skin tool is by far the best door skin tool available.

I am pretty sure I have tried them all.

My one complaint would be, the tool needs to be ambidextrous, or have a L&R version.
More than a few times it would be very convenient to be able to go the "other direction "

Hey, APT and GJ members.

I have been looking at your 1/4" universal socket sets on Amazon.com. Do you have any opinions on these sockets or buying Astro Pnenmatic from Amazon?

Hey JBradley500,
These are great durable sets right here.
Very handy and nicely packaged to tuck away in your tool drawer.

On a side note, the amazon reviews speak for themselves =P.

If there is any info I can provide, don't hesitate to ask friend.
Have a great one!

I am a Canadian customer who placed an order on April 7, 2014 from tooltopia for a bunch of tools. One of them was the AP 9409A hose clamp plier. I decided to play it safe and purchase the cable kit for it 9409-12, I was going to order the wire sheath kit 9409-11 but it was out of stock from tooltopia.

On Monday April 21, I went down to buffalo and picked up my tools and a bunch of other stuff. Today I was doing the lower ball joints on my vehicle and decided to test the plier. I chose the upper radiator hose clamp and attempted to remove it and then snap, the cable broke and heard something drop to the floor.

I am not impressed that right out the box it would break on me. Would there be any recourse on my end seeing that it failed on first attempt?

I am missing the piece which I pointed to in blue pen.

Thanks

hey, I was able to find that piece that dropped, looking at the new cable kit and original cable I noticed that the new cable was shorter, thinner, and had a different type of holding bar. Is this the old kit, I am in need of the newer kit. Thanks

I had originally thought the cable snapped but upon inspection it slipped, the kit that I got from tooltopia is an older model, and speaking to AP, they verified this and will be sending the newer revised cable.

I appreciate AP coming to the rescue quickly and look forward to getting the plier back in action

Thanks again AP tools

Question:

part number 1222 or
222?

Looking for some inexpensive grinders for my dad (someone dropped his at work and broke it)

he wants one that is quiet or less noisy then the $10 harbor freight el cheapo grinders at all the box stores

also what is warranty on these aside from accidental and intentional abuse?

that hot staple gun above looks really cool. people who wreck snowmobiles would be all over that tool

Hello Dave,
How are you doing.
If you want my recommendation i would have to say the 1222.
That is based on personal opinion though.
Both items are great long lasting tools with extreme durability.
