College degree required...

Darn college being so expensive and the job market being so lame. Hard to afford college on a minimum wage job. :willy_nil

Hey, we're just trying to help those with college debt pay it off:p

Really it's sort of just a company wide requirement for office management more than what I think is required to do a good job.

Wish they didn't have that requirement, it actually sounds like something I'd really enjoy, presuming the travel could be upped to more than 5%, I love to travel, especially when I'm getting paid to do it. :D

In regards to the first two aspects, Eric O on the SMA Youtube channel actually pointed this out to me from the first batch of these. And since then were were able to manufacture them to avoid this from happening.

Your main issue, not sure what it could be. Sounds like worn rotr blades but you mention you oil it. Yeah, let us take a look.

Send it to 1230 Santa Anita Ave. #E, South El Monte, CA 91733 and we'll repair or replace it for you. Or just drop me a PM and I'll see if our Customer Service dept can take care of that.
sent out the box today, expect it to arrive before the end of the week. Thanks!

I have been harassing my indy tool guy to hunt down a 4980 for weeks to no avail. He quoted a fantastic price on it then mentioned his warehouse supplier had none in stock, lol. I may just give in and purchase through Amazon for a bit more money.

Your 9406F pliers for the clic-r clamps is awesome.I bought a pair from my Matco dealer and used them for the first time finally.Used them on a Volvo that have these style clamps.Knew I had them in my toolbox never used them yet.Pulled them out and made it much easier to get these clamps removed.Used to fight getting them apart using pliers and a screwdriver.

I have the 40sl work like for about a month now and I get a flickering to it when it's been on for a bit.

The light is fully charged.

Was just curious if anyone else has had the issue.

Other than the flicker it's a great light

I'm not worried if it was end of last week. Thanks for the quick reply!

What was wrong with it?

I remember him saying he thought it was a pinched rotor blade before he opened it. I'll have to ask.

Whats up with the smaller impact ratchets saying "off shelf"?

Currently dealing with patent matters on that one

Confirmed it was picked up last week, likely Friday.

Our tech said a rotor blade was touching the housing, so either the housing wasn't torqued down quite right, or the rotor blade was out of tolerance. Works as it should now.

I don't anticipate further issue, but if a problem should develop due to something else being out of tolerance let me know and I'll just send out a new replacement.

And BTW, this is the first 1822 or 1828 we have gotten back for repair:D The only other 2 I've seen back were for having "not enough power" but both tested well above 450/350 when put straight on a Skidmore without messing with them.

Got my Astro 3018 digital inflator (updated version w/ SS hose) and the 40SL light. Very pleased with both of them so far! The light has been a huge upgrade over my previous lights and has made many jobs SO much easier. Can usually get the battery to last through an entire workday too!

Glad you like it. We'll keep coming out with more work lights in this vain, as well as one that's going to be a long project that we're designing from the ground up based on community feedback, requests, and surveys from end users only.

I know I keep asking, but any word on the availability of those tap and die sets?

:)

Jeff

No timeline on the Astro branded set.

Hey Chris,

I have the 1442 rivet nut set and was wondering if you guys could or would make a modified mandrel for this set? We use longer rivnuts for thicker material and the mandrel that comes with the 1442 set is not long enough to work.

thanks!

Hi Kball

That's a Plus Nut, not a traditional rivnut. We've gotten requests before in order for some of our tools to set plus nuts, but the mandrels are custom to the tool and would require new tooling to manufacture for use with plus nuts, and those mandrels could then be too long for use with standard rivnuts in many situations so there's no win/win.

Currently the only tools that I can easily provide extra long mandrels is our PRN pneumatic guns like PRN516. And the PRN1 can be easily modified w/out touching the mandrels.

The #1128 3/8" Mini Impact Ratchet Wrench seems to be out of stock at many stores online. What's up?

My 1SL does that now, but it's over a year old and has taken a few headers so I attributed it to that. :dunno:

Was just using this and had to give it a shout-out, certainly the most beastly die grinder we make:

I've been in the market for a die grinder for a while, I just couldn't decide which one I liked best. I had never seen this one before, but I like what I see. This may be the one I actually pull the trigger on.

I have one. I used it recently to hog out a bunch of holes in a trailer I needed to make larger. Must have used it an hour straight. Never even got warm, and didn't leave me with hearing damage as well hahaha.

Couldn't find anything comparable on the tool truck

Chris, would you happen to have a list of all applications for the 78618 brake caliper kit ?

Will need it for a 2010 eos vw and a 2015 golf tdi hatch.

Thanks

I've used that set on a 2010 VW Jetta TDI Sedan. I would suspect you will be covered. That set has got like every adapter imaginable.

How come everyone says the deluxe blow gun...blows? I purchased one over a year ago, but all recent reviews state the kit has changed for the worse. Holding off on buying a second gun...any thoughts?

Mine works great as does the body panel removal kit I have from Astro.

Mine works great as does the body panel removal kit I have from Astro.

Because for one batch (and we make many thousands in a batch) they did blow. We screwed the pooch on one shipment and they had a slightly undersized brass valve/pin. This lead them to leak out the blow tip even w/out throttle.

Of course we found the problem, scrapped our inventory and made a complete redesign so that couldn't even happen if we wanted it to now - but after you send inventory out to warehouses it's hard to track who has what in the supply chain. So for months people buying online would get the faulty model here and there - and the ones with problems lead to vocal reaction naturally.

We made the 1717A in the mean time so people buying that can know they got the new/real deal. But we've had 100% good inventory on the old models for awhile now - it's just hard to weed out any of the bad ones out there.

We offer free replacement sent direct to the user - but many don't get in touch with us after we send them that info.
