Astro, Sunex, and Grey pneumatic - still solid?

Looking at some impacts, swivels and a few other things.

All still recommended and solid?

I have some of all of them most relatively new and have no issues with any of them.

I don’t know about swivels. But I’ve had GP impacts for quite awhile and never had any problem. I don’t have any Sunex impact but my Matco guy sells a lot of them and says they work well.

Absolutely. They all have great stuff. I’d also take a look at Tekton and Capri for those too then compare each ones then buy. Same quality and price range pretty much on all of them.

I really like my Sunex master set. I have impacts from several sources, including Genius, Sunex, USA Craftsman, Stanley, Harbor Freight, and Tekton. In my neck of the woods you don’t see GP or Astro stocked but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them either. If you stay in those three I don’t think you can go wrong.

Take a look at torquetestchannel on YouTube they did a good video on impact swivels. Some of them rob you more heavily then others on power/break easier.

I have the GP and Sunex impacts in semi-deep, working fine in the home garage so far.

From what I’ve seen, the COO Taiwan tools from all of these manufacturers seem to be similarly good quality.

Had the 1/2" and 3/8" drive nano impact socket sets for 3 years and still going strong.

You folks aren’t understanding the real issue here. My tool box, fishing closet, RC cabinet, etc., we’re filled under the motto. “Two is one, one is none.” Having two new batteries fail means, my wife is right. Ever lived with a wife when she’s proven right!!!

Yes Sir- Been using Astro Nano Sockets and Universals, Sunex for 1/2 Impact, GP for 3/8 and 1/4 Impact and Tekton for the chrome. All seem similar excellent quality.

Most of my impacts are Grey Pneumatic. They’ve held up really well for me. Can’t go wrong!

If you expect to warranty anything with Grey Pneumatic, just make sure you have a saved recepit from an actual authorized seller. Most if not all of the Amazon and Ebay sellers are not authorized.

Napa Carlyle are rebranded Sunex and are top notch impact sockets in every variety.

They can be had at a reasonable price when Napa runs their tool sales.
