What brands of astronomical switch have you used? The soffit lights on my shop are currently on dusk to dawn with photo cell but I do not like it that lit up all night long.
Any preferences?

You could add a simple 24 hour timer into the circuit that shuts it down at say 10pm. Have it turn back on mid day when the photocell will control when it turns on.

Any reason why you need an astronomical switch? The astronomical feature automatically sets the dust to dawn timing, but since you already have a photocell, and just want to shut it off at say midnight, any ordinary timer would do .

I have been using a Honeywell Econoswitch RPLS740B for the last 6 years in my garage to control the outside driveway lights. Lights come on at sunset and I have them go off at 2am as that is the latest I could ever think I would be coming home. I programmed it when I first got it and haven't touched it since. Also keeps its programming through power outages.
