Has anybody ever used both? I'm on a quest to buy 1/2, 3/8, and 1/4" sets like these in cases like these are. I already have the 3/8 one from Sunex and love it. I was just wondering if the $60-70 jump in price from the ATD to the Sunex is worth it for the 1/4". I don't really need the Torx bits that the Sunex has, as I already have a set. I'm mostly concerned about the quality (both tools and case) and warranty of the ATD. The warranty info just tells you to submit a claim, but I didn't see where it told you the length of the warranty.

I mostly work on stuff for my dad a few times a week. These will not get heavy use. I just want at least decent quality sockets that will last me for years. Thoughts?

I haven’t used atd, but my co workers have some and they worked fine. I have a set of sunex impact sockets that I used a lot when I was working on semi trucks. They’re also good. Can’t go wrong with sunex impact sockets in my opinion. If I could do it again, those would probably be the only ones I’d buy. I have all snap on and matco impacts, but the sunex do the same job and haven’t broke yet.

I'd go with Sunex myself. Do you have a use for 1/4 drive impacts? The 3/8 drive Sunex kits go down to 5/16 and 8mm.

1/4 impacts always seemed unnecessary to me.

This is going to sound really stupid, but I do not plan on using the 1/4" drive impact sockets as impact sockets. I just thought that it was nice to have the extensions, a swivel, swivel sockets, deep and shallow all in metric and standard in a single case for ease of transport and because I'm lazy. I'd much rather pay less for an identical kit with chrome sockets instead of impact, but I'm not sure if one exists.

Edit: I already have the 3/8 impact kit and I love it. However, I do want a 1/4 kit as well for the smaller stuff. I'd only be using a normal ratchet or milwaukee cordless ratchet with them.
