ATD Hand Tools?

Anyone have experience with ATD hand tools? Never heard of them before.

A catalog flyer thing came across my desk, with a pretty decent assortment of snap ring pliers made by them for a decent price...feel like it might be getting just to see if they're garbage or not.

I rarely use snap ring pliers...like, super rarely, so I don't need an awesome quality set...but the pair I bought from Harbor Freight with the interchangeable heads might be the single most useless item I've ever purchase there. I'm a "better keep that even though it's absolute **** because it might save me some day" kind of guy and I threw those things right in the ******* garbage. Atrocious.

Anyway...

Thoughts on ATD? Curious if anyone knows anything about this company.

I've got a couple of their lights (underhood and an LED cordless stick) plus a couple other odds and ends kicking around I'm sure. Seem decent enough but nothing special.

I have some of it. Never had a piece that didn't work as it should and some of it super. I have 2 of the snap ring sets, 3/8 wobble extensions, adjustable wrenches I like better than Proto, paint pressure pot that worked better than I thought it would.

I have their big 12pc or so snap ring plier set in the big case top notch set. I had a harbor freight set prior and they always bent or broke . I have yet to bend even the super small ones and I've pulled some tough snap rings with them. Money well spent on a great set I payed about $65 on eBay

Never heard of them down here.

You probably wont, they may be sold under another brand. Often supplied as house brand for auto parts chains etc. The wob extensions worked good enough i bought another set when they came on sale again. Prices have dropped, back then 10$ for 3 pc set.
I bought the pressure pot thinking it would be disposable but still works a dozen jobs later. Cost 100 and a brand was 8 or more at the time.

My local Napa sells quite a bit of ATD stuff. My last Snap On dealer did as well. I have a 1 5/16" - 2" wrench set that's not bad. I also have a 32mm-...I think 40mm set. But I think they have 2 different grades. My SAE set I bought from my SO guy seem a little more stout, cost more, and have a lifetime warranty. The metric set I bought at Napa, only had a year warranty. Both ATD, both China made, like I said just seem to be different grades. But neither set is terrible.
