Just thought I would share...

I was looking for USA made tools to share on my blog, when I came across a company called ATE Pro. USA. I thought it was strange that a company would deliberately put "USA" in their name as it seems to suggest that the tool is manufactured in the USA. When you go to their website, and read their "About Us" section, found here, you'll find that they don't make anything. They just import and laser engrave USA on ****** looking chineesium tools. What a disgrace.

Kinda like all the other brands called - USA sounding names but all made in China.

They are making out like bandits as they get new victims to buy throw away tools.

I looked at their website.. Being they are a wholesale operation; You have to register as a retailer or company to view what they sell... The inner circle of the commie import club? Thanks for the heads up.. I will avoid their products, and continue My attempt to avoid stepping in dog **** as well.

It is so insulting that they think Americans are that stupid. They are laughing all the way to the bank.

Is it even legal? I feel like if you make USA part of your name, you should have to post the actual country of origin in as big text, right next to it.

I've noticed this with car parts a bunch lately, too. A couple of the middle of the road suppliers for german cars, Meyle and Febi... In the past I'd say about half their stuff was german made, with the remainder east euro, turkish, and asian, some spain. Seems now it's more and more asian. So what do they do? change their marques to Meyle Germany and Febi GERMANY.

So you pull the part out of the box, it says "Febi GERMANY" on it... gotta be german, right? "made in china" in 8pt on the box, no where on the actual part.

This is why I stick with the brands I've had for 35 years! Pisses me off when I see names like US General, made in china. (middle finger)

They may have skirted that part of the law by having coo on plastic wrap, or on a large bin that held hundreds of sets.

That’s how those 59 cent pliers at wal mart get away with no coo on the product itself.

The use of a different font seems extremely malicious. This is a law suit waiting to happen. It would be easy to prove their intent is to mislead consumers and misrepresent their products.

I'll just leave this here:

WHAT TO DO ABOUT VIOLATIONS

What if I suspect noncompliance with the FTC’s Made in USA standard or other country-of-origin mislabeling?

Information about possible illegal activity helps law enforcement officials target companies whose practices warrant scrutiny. If you suspect noncompliance, contact the Division of Enforcement, Bureau of Consumer Protection, Federal Trade Commission, Washington, DC 20580; (202) 326-2996 or send an e-mail to [email protected](link sends e-mail). If you know about import or export fraud, call Customs’ toll-free Commercial Fraud Hotline, 1-800-ITS-FAKE. Examples of fraudulent practices involving imports include removing a required foreign origin label before the product is delivered to the ultimate purchaser (with or without the improper substitution of a Made in USA label) and failing to label a product with a required country of origin.

You also can contact your state Attorney General and your local Better Business Bureau to report a company. Or you can refer your complaint to the National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus by calling (212) 754-1320. NAD handles complaints about the truth and accuracy of national advertising. You can reach the Council of Better Business Bureaus on the web at adweb.com/adassoc17.html.

Finally, the Lanham Act gives any person (such as a competitor) who is damaged by a false designation of origin the right to sue the party making the false claim. Consult a lawyer to see if this private right of action is an appropriate course of action for you

Pretty obvious that our Communist Collaborator politicians and bureaucrats need to be surrounded by pitchfork-toting villagers until they impose PROPER COO labeling and a general upgrade to COO laws. (mandatory minimum font sizes, COO labeling in ALL advertising, etc.)

Better still would be IMPORT TAXES.

They look like fairly ****** tools and they are cheap priced, so even if they were actually "made in USA", would anyone here actually buy them?

I didn't think so.

If those who don't know better, will just buy cheap-priced, crappy tools and feel good about about "buying American", if they even care at all, since Amazon sells world wide, not just here, where much of the rest of the word could care less.

There is that thing called caveat emptor.

That’s great. A brand that doesn’t quite know who they are or where they’re from. Looks like the twin to Ampro brand ratchets though.
