I have a Athol Machine Co. No. 0 "Simpson" quick adjusting vise. It is missing the main nut (Or half nut). I was hoping some of the vise collector may be able to help me out with this restoration. It is a neat little vise. Please see attached photos for reference.

nice vice. not much to restore.
Just clean off the rust with a litle 4 ought steel wool. Oil it up and put it back together. It needs nothing major. you can paint it if you want but it depends on the collector. Some like it the way they find things and others like it back the way it came. Nice find. I would slap a little greese on it and use it. I use my tools. I don't have a need to live in a perfect world. I leave that for the wife. Lord knows she is trying to make me perfect but it will never happen. LOL
