Hey brother tool lovers i just picked an old athol vise marked 93. Unfortunately i can not find any info on this model # (like date of manufacture) the vise it self is in very good condition. It has been all cleaned up and a fresh coat of paint. But i would love to know how old this beast is.
If anyone could help with info or a direction i would greatly appreciate it.

Can't help much but I know if it's marked 'Athol Machine & Foundry' or 'A.M. & F' then it's older than one marked 'Athol Machine Co' .

I stand corrected. Here's a post from a machinist message board.

"....From Ken Cope's book the company was founded in 1868, aquired by Starrett in 1905, named changed to Athol Machine & Foundary Co. in 1930 and ceased operation in 1963..."

Anyway I like Athols and your vise looks great .
