Athol vise model identification

I have an Athol vise on a bench in the barn I bought. It has the number 717 stamped on one side and 926 on the other. How do you determine what the actual model number is? Thanks.

google each and see what you find. If the jaws are 6" wide prolly 926, and 717 would be a casting/lot number or something.

Usually the last # (4, 5, 6, etc) is the jaw width...

I'm not sure the handle is original......I thought 700 series Athols had the cog and spring setup at the front of the spindle.....attached is some shots of my 712 and the handle/spindle........

bl00, you have a great memory. I picked up another one to and yes they are the ratcheting handle type like Hemi49 mentioned. Both of mine were welded and not repaired yet. I agree with Slackmaster that DaveTraders is missing the original ratcheting Spindle assembly.
