Athol vises

I have recently got into collecting vices and like the old Athol models. I bought a Athol Machine Co. no. 677 2" swivel base vise off of ebay. The vise is in very nice shape but the swivel base is shot. At some point it was broken and brazed back together. However, there is a considerable amount of the base missing. I wanted to ask if any of the vise collector's in this group could help. If anyone would have an extra base for the no. 677 vises please contact me off list. My email address is [email protected]

I am also looking for a half nut (main bearing nut) for a No. 0 Athol vise.

Good luck Darren. Spare parts are harder to find then the vise itself. Who knows, there are alot of GJ member who will read this. Myabe you will get lucky.

If you can post a picture of the base with some dimensions, it possible i could find you a replacement, since i come across a lot of vises. Since most small size vises were very similar, you could find a different brand donor vise and use that swivel base. I would be a bit hard to notice since its just the base and it will keep you going until you can find the correct parts. I've only come across 2 Athols in all of my searching. I sold one and the other was given to my dad as a gift.
