I have been looking at lifts for the last month or so, and am stuck between these 2 9k pound lifts from greg smith equipment.

The big difference I see is the more expensive lift has direct drive cylinders. Just looking for any insight on what lift would be best for my. This will be going in my home garage with 12' ceilings. Heaviest this will be lifting is my 2500hd duramax ext. cab short bed, but mostly lighter vehicles.

I can not tell you which is best for your needs or the difference between the two models, but will say I have had the 90HSC for almost two years now and it has been outstanding. Have not had any problems and it sees a lot of use. Some advice however, the truck frame adapters come in really handy for clearing fuel tanks and parking brake cables on some trucks. And without question get at least one, but better a pair of the tall jack stands. Longer heavy trucks can get pretty springy if you're wrenching on something hard. They are also super handy for hanging new exhaust and other stuff.

This is mine.

These are the jack stands I have. Put one under the rear diff or the front cross member and you're good to go.

I ended up buying the more expensive pv-9p, since its recommended for 3/4 ton diesels. Cant wait to get it and install it. Definitely need to buy the frame adapters, stands and oil changing drain, possibly a transmission jack, but I have spent enough $ for this week.

I am very thankful for this site, it has given me tremendous amounts of info on 2 post lifts.
