I’ve long been a user of Atlas 46 tool rolls. The guys that make this stuff, use the stuff – that much is obvious because their products are designed in such a usable way featuring craftsmanship typically reserved only for bespoke bags. In fact, I will say the Yorktown Roll is the best tool roll I’ve ever used.

I do have one issue… Cordura often looks out of place in the trunks of my old cars. I know, I know… I’m often over critical of these details, but the fact of the matter is that nylon doesn’t belong near mohair.

Recently, however, Atlas 46 has come up with an answer for guys like me: LEATHER. So far, I’ve only experienced the Merrick Tool Roll and it is every bit as good as the $189 price tag implies. It’s a pretty safe bet that...

Looks like nice stuff, but the huge branding turns me off a bit. I think I'm funny about stuff like that.

I really like the socket rolls, reminds me of my Wera 1/4 inch ratchet sets, which I use all the time. Unfortunately on theirs the little stretchy socket holding pouches wear out over time when bouncing around with sockets in them.

I bought a bunch of leather hides a few years ago and made a bunch of handbags for all my women friends and relatives. Still have a bunch and have been looking for another project. Maybe I'll try making something like this.

I should have never clicked on the link. :wtf: The leather wrench rolls, the punch pouches, that big leather tool bag, the large $1200 set. I will forget I ever saw the stuff. :dunno:

I have to remind myself that the only place I use tool rolls is in the trunk of my cars... and I don't need any of that other stuff... and then, I have to stop looking at that catalog. :)

100% agree... I'm not huge on the big branding either.

I will say though... Everything they make is made like a brick **** house. Seriously. It's really impressive. So I assume they are pretty proud of it and hence the gigantic branding to go along with the price.

Looking at this tool roll bag I am struck by how much it looks like my “ man purse”. I was thinking it would have been more like the tool roll where it is tied by a cord and unrolls, then having individual pockets where your stuff goes.

If you want something with lots of zipper pockets, is heavy duty and is smaller size than a typical canvas tool bag, look under “messenger bags”. There are tons of choices in canvas and leather too. Here is my Man purse

I use it for city vacations so i can carry an umbrella, water bottle, camera, hand sanitizer, mask, aspirin etc.
and stuff my coat into when I don’t want to wear it.

i have seriously pissed off a few leather workers by asking them not to stamp their logo onto my custom orders.

My Tucker Gunleather rig is stunning… but I am more than sure that he hates me at this point. I would suggest his work, enthusiastically, to anyone. It is wonderful.

The branding on the Atlas 46 stuff is borderline ridiculous. Luxury prices to look at that mess… the leatherwork looks top notch, though. I do not pretend to know what is stylish… I just know what I like.

They definitely seem to offer high quality, functional, and attractive solutions. I don’t mind paying up for quality but I draw the line when a company wants me to be their unpaid billboard. Those gaudy logos were enough to turn me away…

The romantic hills of central Umbria, Italy,
I have a bunch of Atlas 46 stuff - mostly their canvas - Tool rolls, wrench sets, even my kitchen knives when I travel... You know what they say about once bitten? Their stuff does that... it is SO well built and SO well designed, it reminds me of my dad's tool rolls... most of those are now pretty beat, but these carry on the tradition!

The siren song was playing to me.
2 staff members were in my store with product and catalogs. As a vendor I can buy at ** discount. Locally made, my hometown actually and company started with motorcycle history.
Damn, how many strings can play at once. I drooled on their stuff hard for a couple weeks.
If I wasn't on a Milwaukee rampage, they would have had me!
