This is a simple refurb, take it apart, blast it, paint and polish it and put it back together. Depending what the bearings are like, I will replace those aswell.

Not much to this little guy, pics may be deceiving but this is only a 11" x 14" table, and is generally run of a 1/4-1/2hp motor.
Vintage Machinery has only 2 others besides this one, and being the Atlas name but built in Canada may explain why you don't see many of them.

The table actually does the moving on this for depth setting, crank on right side raises/lowers the top.

Badge shot... I couldn't get the rivets out, so this was taped off for blasting & painting.


Who knows how old some of this dust is... or some of the other dust I found while taking it apart.


Base on it's own.


The colour is a little bright, may give it some time to see how it grows on me, if it dulls down a bit after some handling/use maybe it'll stay this colour.






I should get some time this weekend to begin reassembly.

Will also have to pick out a motor from what I have, but I like matching up the machines to something "period correct" motor wise and I'm not sure if I have another after another recent refurb.

Those rivets holding the metal data plate on are actually drive screws. (I think thats the proper name)
You can sometimes tap them out from the back, but if they are installed in a blind hole you can use a dremel to cut a slot into them and unscrew them. They have very coarse threads and come out quite easily.

Right you are, and the drive screws holding the front emblem were easy to pop out with a few taps from the backside. Those for the rear plate are not easily accessible from inside, and I dont want to slot them as they would then be different from those on the front side.
No biggie, as I taped it off and I can't tell it wasn't taken off for the repaint.

Few new pics now that tape is off, I ran the machined faces over with a file, the larger pieces go over sand paper on a flat surface (table saw top)
A few pieces will need more time, as you can see the slightly varied surfaces on some of the bigger faces.

started putting it back together, but at a stand still as I wasn't happy with the old bearings. After all this, I can't put them back in knowing they arrn't good anymore.

So it will stay like this for a bit, until new bearings can be found.
