I just installed my new lift and I think I'm using it wrong. I tried to pick up my Pontiac today, and it just split in half!

j/k... that was on purpose. Now onto the review...

Background:

So I picked up an Atlas BP8000 from Greg Smith Equipment in Atlanta on Friday. The experience at their retail location was fine. Their staff was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. They were careful loading the lift into my truck and it was generally a pleasant experience.

I chose this lift because a good friend has the larger BP9000 and had nothing but positive things to say about it except that it was a little too big for working on lowered race cars due to its larger lifting arms. I also liked that it has a single sided release. It was also the least expensive two post they offer. I didn't want to skimp, but my budget was limited and the BP8000 seemed to have everything I needed.

Likes:

The lift seems to be very well built. All components appear to be of good quality and appropriately sized.

The unit works very smoothly.

It is adjustable. Lowering speed, relative take-up of the arms, etc. can be tailored to suit your needs.

Dislikes:

Paint quality could be better. There are a couple of small areas of paint that chipped off immediately due to scale under the paint.

It is heavy and was a bit difficult to install because of the weight, but I suppose that is to be expected.

The instructions ****. This was without a doubt the worst set of Engrish filled instructions that I've ever seen. Apparently all of my electrical connections were supposed to be in good contact with the floor. I assume that means grounded, but who knows. Installation is fairly straightforward, and if you are capable of doing work involved enough to justify a lift, you can probably figure it out, but we could have knocked a couple of hours off the install time if they had been better.

Overall Impressions:

Overall, I think the BP8000 is great value for the money and I would purchase again.

I've been waiting for someone here to provide some feedback on that lift. Seemed like a good deal for a low ceiling height application but I hadn't seen much info about it.
Thanks

Updating this thread with my review :

I have also bought a Atlas BP8000 from Greg Smith one year ago and I cannot be happier.

I had height restriction but wasn't interested by the MaxJax so the Atlas BP8000 looked to be perfect for me and I knew at $1400.00 it was made in China but I gave it a try.

After 1 year of use I have had "0" issue .
I'll recommand this lift to anyone who is looking for a none commercial and inexpensive kit for his home.
