What does the collective think of this compressor? Is it worth 750.00? It appears to be 145 psi and 24 cfm. Digging through the specs has me a little dizzy. It also appears to be a direct drive oiled compressor. How loud do you think it will be and how long to recover? Thanks in advance.

If it works that would be a lot of air. Interesting being direct drive... Probably loud due to the high RPM of the compressor.

I have more questions than answers.
I have an Atlas Copco that I bought new over 30 years ago. It's been a great compressor but it's belt drive. A direct drive like that depending on the adapter I think would limit you if you ever need to replace the motor and the pump. No buying a parts compressor and fixing it if needed.

I would keep looking.

Usually (but not always), a wiring box of that size on the exterior of the motor housing indicates a single-phase motor, as that is where the start and run capacitors are located. The 3-phase motors don't need the capacitors (although run capacitors can be used for a better power factor) so they don't have the box or the capacitor covers.

So as a general rule, if you see an AC motor in this size range without any boxes, bumps, or bulges on it, it's likely to be a 3-phase motor.
