Ok, I give up. What in the world is this thing? The knurled knob end is stamped “No. 148” and “Atmars Tool Co. Dakland 12 California”. The “business” end is shaped like a very short screwdriver blade, with a center section that rotates when you push on the knurled end. My grandfather left me a bunch of tools, some automotive, some small engine, and others from a foundry. Anyway I’d love to know what this is.

Bit of trivia, John Derville Jr. Of General Tool in Portland Oregon which was the original retail arm of P&C tools in the 20's told me that Edward A. (Ned) Boyd, the founder of Thorsen Tools also started Atmars.

The Phillips screw holders are even cooler.

I used mine last weekend to put a screw into a lug terminal into a rocket switch at an odd angle.

I have a handful, cuz they are cheap at garage sales.

I used to use one almost every day for changing breaker points. It kept me from dropping a screw down into the advance weights.

I just picked up some tools and there is an Atmars BeezNeez #33 tool. I definitely have no idea what it is used for...anyone have an old catalog or knowledge of Atmars tools? I used to work in Oakland at Ocemco on 51st ave...

Interesting in that it does not appear to have been made by Ullman.
Any possibility of getting a better photo image of the brand name/part number and/or logo stamped on the unit?

One of their ads lists a Feelzit Seezit valve tappet tool, not sure what it is, an all text ad. PopMech Jun 1952

That may be one of those devices that freezes the water in a pipe so you can drill a hole and clamp a "tee" to it to "tap" into the water. Get the job done, then let the water thaw and you are good to go.
