Here I go again...you'd think I would have learned after building the detached garage, but I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment!
Hitting up the house renovations now, which includes a rear addition for a new masterbedroom with ensuite bathroom and big closet. In the front, the old carport is becoming a family room with a new garage extending out front.
When we bought the house, I enclosed the carport, but it was just too darned small to use for much more than storing the VW and household junk. Anytime I worked on the truck, it's *** end was stuck out in the weather and I couldn't close the door!
In these photos, you can see a temporary storage room I've built at the back of the carport, and the open studs which form a temporary support wall for the trusses. The temp wall was needed as I had to excavate below the old front wall in order to install a proper foundation to support the new raised floor and framing, etc.
As with the garage build, I'm doing most, if not all of the work myself evenings and weekends. Arg.
