I am going to add a 28 x 32 garage to the house(just for parking)
There is a shortage of concrete guys around here so I am trying to find a way I can do as much myself as possible. I have a concrete guy but he does not have wall forms. I was going to use foam forms but have heard some real horror stories and I don't need insulated walls. The latest thing I found are forms you can rent. Symonds/Simmons forms......anyone have a tale to tell?

My concrete guy used rental forms, low overhead costs, usually treated plywood, holes drilled and easy to set up in standard lengths. Ask your local rental agency for a schedule, most have them. I have even rented forms from a building supply. Biggest issue is don't cut them....they didn't like it when one of mine was cut.

What are the horror stories about the ICF forms? I built my stem walls that way, I trimmed the top blocks away at the very end to make more of a traditional concrete wall look. The ICFs are built to pour 8-10' tall basements with, my 42" stem wall was very minimal in comparison.
