Does anyone do this or know of who I should reach out to locally (near mentor)? Wanted to give the forum a shot before i call my HVAC contractor that worked on the house when I built it.

Basically want to swap out my electric 220 heater I have been using for a NG one. Just picked up a welder and want to use the circuit for that instead, going to try and spend some more time out there.

Don't want to run the gas line, plumb the vent, or do anything inside the electrical panel. Yes I know its not the mantra, I just think I will blow myself up LOL.

In reality it comes down to my time availability, but either way :shocking:

Anyway let me know if you have anyone or you yourself are interested.

Thanks

I am in the middle of a similar project. Any HVAC guy should be able to do the work. If you know where you want to mount your heater, you could have a plumber run the gas line, then call HVAC for heater. I've been researching NG heaters to death, and I am about settled on Modine HDS 30 (sealed combustion) or Roberts Gordon CGTH 30. You need to determine heater size first based on garage size and insulation. I'm in the $1000-$1500 range right now, but if you go without sealed combustion, should be cheaper.

I’m tackling the heater myself, had a sub panel put in the garage and now just getting a plumber to do the gas and I’ll take over
