Recently purchased a new house (close 8-10) and even though it has more square footage it doesn't have the storage space like my current house. I am looking into wall mounted storage shelfs for the attached garage. It will mainly be used to store totes of seasonal decorations, camping and hunting gear. Has anyone used the FLEXIMOUNTS shelves? The attached garage has pretty tall ceilings and if I remember right there appeared to be about 4' between the garage door track and ceiling.

If you include a few pics, it's easier to provide input.

I used the OH door supports to run supports across the garage with ledgers on each side wall. I have the bellcrank Liftmaster door openers, which frees-up space below the tracks. I also used 1x4's to support 4 ft LED 'double-bulb' FEIT shop lamps sourced from Costco. The luminaires are hung from the 1x4's just-by screwing through the sheet-metal into the wood.

I used Simpson galvanized brackets to make hanging brackets. I find uses for storage and other projects by use of Simpson products.

The gable-end of the space above the OH doors has been used for storage of bulky, not-heavy and seldom-used storage totes, like Christmas decorations.

A previous garage had 18in deep shelf about 2ft down from the 10ft ceiling on 3 walls. It was a mess but held a ton of stuff. I finally organized it when HD had the approximate 16 gal clear storage tubs on sale. Bought enough to fill the shelves and it made things look much better but still easy to grab the correct tub since I could see inside it. Another time HD had their unfinished kitchen cabinets on sale so I bought 8 30 inchers and put them on the wall as 2 rows of 4 w/ about 6 inches between them. The 6 inches was real nice to store some long objects sitting on top of the lower level of cabinets.

I moved from a shop/garage that was about 1800SF down to 750SF so I feel your pain.

I made this rack out of the bullnose MDF shelving you can buy at the home center. It sits on a ledgerboard screwed to the plate of the garage wall so I can get a broom or mop under it. The totes are the kind stores use for restocking and measure about 8"x11"x22"

I keep tools/supplies for stuff I access frequently in these totes. Things like 'Rope and Ratchets", "Drywall Knives/Pans", "Hydraulic Fittings" "Toilet Repair Parts" "110V Electric" "Kreg Tools" etc - basically anything I need access to regularly. Everything else goes in the basement in 15 gallon totes. Everything in the rack can be accessed standing in front of it and is light enough to handle or just take to where I'm working. Still working out the balance between cold storage in the basement and what's in the shop, but it's continuous process kind of thing.
