I apologize in advance. This thread is probably in the wrong place. Ignorance is my only defense.

Quick question from a new guy that I know has been covered before, but I still struggle. It would not be the first time. I have done a lot of searches, but can't find the exact answer.

I am trying to use the funtion where I link to an image, because I think it is really slick and saves tons of space, especially because I love photos and posts with photos. Pictures really tell the story.

I have the
function and always get the blue box like this:

dinosarti

It is driving me bonkers! I really want to post a ton of pictures related to my garage re-org.

One issue I suspect is that my pictures are hosted on my mobile me site. Has anyone used this before? The site is not password protected and i have all the options check marked to make as open as possible.

Any thoughts on mobile me or what I am doing wrong? :headscrat

you could try it with a photobucket account just to see if it is that site not allowing linking, or try a test post with an image from anywhere on the net to see if its the way your doing it or your hosting sites issue

I just opened a flickr account and can't get that to work either. See below as the little blue box kicks my ****:

try entering it in img tags like this *[url]http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5082/...486504343.jpg*[/url][img/]

but remove the asterix's, flicker is adding a lot of extra code to the location, just right click on the image and select copy location(if using firefox)

as in the test forum you tried [img]<a href="hxxp://www.flickr.com/photos/57539344@N02/5298068603/" title="Cruiser1001 by dinosarti, on Flickr"><img src="[COLOR="Red"]hxxp://farm6.static.flickr.com/5082/5298068603_4486504343.jpg[/COLOR]" width="500" height="375" alt="Cruiser1001" /></a>

which can be stripped down to just

Finally figured it with much testing and mucho advice from weegaz22. Thanks a lot man. You rule. The key was to trim out the extra flickr code. The other issue was that I think that because I am using a Mac it also made things harder. Rather than paste the link and grabbed the BB Code and then trimmed away the extra flickr stuff.

Another trick, sorry weegaz22, is to type the last command as "[/img]" NOT "[img/]

Then, presto!
