I’m working on an idea to mount some solar on my conex. One array will be south facing and I’ve about got that worked out.
I’d also like to mount an small 1500 watt array west facing to give me enough juice to run the air con an hour or two longer on solar before I start drawing down the battery.
Geometry is leading me to want to mount a little 6 panel array on a pole. I’ve got some 4” schedule 40 rigid metal conduit and a nice store-bought fitting to hold the array. But I’m having trouble thinking of a good way to attach the pipe to the corner castings of the conex.
I’d appreciate any clever bolt on ideas. I’d need to attach both top and bottom. A 1/2 u-bolt and holes in the schedule 40 is the best I’ve been able to think of. I don’t think a couple of 1/2” holes will cause structural issues. Or will they?
Thanks
