Attaching B vent to Hot Dawg

I've got my HD45 mounted on the ceiling and my vent pipe came by UPS today. I got Dura-Vent double wall B vent pipe (3"). The way I mounted the heater the vent pipe is going horizontal through a side wall. My question is regarding attaching the vent pipe to the heater.

The Hot Dawg has the exhaust connection on the back. Do I just slip the double wall vent pipe over the exhaust connection and secure it with a couple of short sheet metal screws? I wasn't sure as the vent pipe is double wall. Or would a stainless steel hose clamp be strong enough to hold the pipe in place on the heater?

The last Hot Dawg I installed had single wall pipe....and it was a few years ago so I don't remember.

Thanks

You probably need a c-b connector. See about posting up some pictures to be sure. You should never have to put screws in b-vent.

That's what you need is a c to b connector.Go to a heating supply store get the connector and a tube of fire proof caulk after you put the connector and pipe together fill the outer cavity off the b pipe with the caulk to seal it.Then slide the pipe on the outlet drill 3 holes and screw it on.

I've pryed the tabs out on B-vent and screwed the liner right to the unit, then push the tabs back down. I prefer the single to double wall connectors, but either way works.
