Not really sure where this post best fits, but here it is. I have a concrerete slab for my sunroom. I'm remodeling it and turning it into an all seasons room. Around the entire outside parimeter of the room, there is a layer of block (I'd guess 4" thick, 8" tall, 12" wide) that has 2"x4" framing attached to it. On my south wall (about 10' long), I'm replacing the screen door and small window with a sliding patio door. When removing the door and window, I discovered that the block is no longer attached to the floor and the wall/roof is holding it up (I can push the wall and the bottom moves). I'd say there is around 1/8" - 3/16" gap between the bottom of the block and the floor. A lot of the block will be removed with the framing/installation for the patio door, but how would I go about resecuring the block to the floor and seal out the elements? To the left of the patio door space, I can access the block on both sides. On the right side of the patio door space, I can only access the block on the outside because of stairs going up into the house being against the wall on the inside.
