Attaching foam to plasterboard wall

I've picked up a piece of foam, around 1 meter x 30 cm, to put on the wall in front of my car (to protect the front of the car when I get too close).

Wondering what would be the best way to attach it to the wall - want it to stay in place, but don't want half the wall tearing off if I ever have to remove it.

The foam is dense and would weigh around 5 grams.

Screws with large washers. Probably only need 4 of them into studs.

Was thinking if screwed in, or attached with metal picture frame holders, how could the fixings be effectively recessed to avoid coming into contact with the car?

An update on how it went.

Ended up using the double-sided carpet tape.

I found it didn't stick very well to the foam, so applied strong adhesive to the strips (used about 8 cut squares) where they attached to the foam.

The tape itself stuck to the wall okay, and has since held there well.

Looks somewhat aesthetically crude in the garage:

Will have to think of a way to better integrate it; thinking of possibly covering it with a fabric to match the wall colour.
