Attaching items to 2 post lift columns

I am installing an Atlas 9koh right now and am just about done.

I want to move the hydraulic power unit to another side of the lift column and planned to drill and tap.

I also want to mount my air hose reel and a corded light reel to it, using the same method.

Any issues doing this? I know I need to use super short bolts to avoid having them stick too far into the lift carriage area.

If you wanted the power unit on the other column, you should have just installed that column on the correct side.

My two post lift has the power unit on the drivers side post when you drive into the garage.

I have heard of people mounting air hose reels to the posts though.

I have an Atlas 9KOH as well and added a few items to the lift posts. Near the control unit I added a power outlet:

At the top of the opposing post I added my air hose reel:

On the power outlet I used short screws being sure they wouldn't interfere with the lifting blocks. On the hose reel, the bolts are above the moving parts so I used bolts/nuts on that.

I'm not an idiot. I did install the column with the welded power unit bracket on the correct side, but I do not want it sticking out into the other bay, so I want to turn it to a different side of that same "correct" column.

Larry, great idea on the hose reel I am going to do the same so I can through bolt it!

BTW, you'll notice in my pic that the mounting bracket for the hydraulic unit is welded to the side of the column. You could cut it off and simply re-weld it to the side where you want it, or make a new bracket. Either way you won't disturb the travel path of the lifting blocks since nothing will protrude though the post.

What did you do about shortening the lift to fit your garage ? Weren't you the guy that was asking about how to do that ? Just curious how it turned out. edit... never mind I got off my lazy *** & did a search. You bought a shorter lift..

Larry I like what you did with the outlet box. Buttt... I'm not real good with electrical stuff. How did you go from 220 to 110 volts ?

Probably ran a 4 wire circuit, 2 hots legs (220V), 1 ground and 1 neutral. 1 leg of 220V and a neutral will give you 110V.

Got the lift up, decided to leave the power unit on the factory bracket for now, if it ends up in the way I will move it later!

Larry I like what you did with the outlet box. Buttt... I'm not real good with electrical stuff. How did you go from 220 to 110 volts ?

I'm not sure why everyone thinks I ran the outlets off the lift power. I simply used the same conduit. The outlets are on their own separate circuit.
