I'm on my first project using metal clad. I'm using it in my metal building with wood purlins and girts. Being used to working with Romex, it is a learning curve. I started using the 3/8 clamps that attach to the girt with a screw. Holding the wire, clamp, screw and driver is quite cumbersome so I started using a Romex staple to hold the mc while I installed the clamp. The staple holds the mc quite securely, so is it good practice to use the staple as a permanent way to attach to wood, or is it not OK? It sure makes the job go faster but it will be exposed and I want it to be done correctly.

Thanks for your advice.

Don't overdrive the staples crushing the armor in the process.

Yes, thanks. I'm driving them across the ridges in the MC and just touching it with the staple.
