Hi,
Thinking of building with Attic trusses in front half of garage, scissor trusses in rear half. Any good idea out there for attic access or stairs without taking up too much floor space?

This can take up as little as 24 sq/in. I made a 2'x4' opening so I could carry things up. It's a little steep but takes up very little floor space.

weve got the fold down stairs and they are good but try and plan in a small lift for bigger items as the actual squeeze space on the fold down stairs is pretty narrow.

If it was me I would fabricate a staircase that pivots at the top.
Use an electric winch to pull it up out of the way what you don't need it.
Easy walking up, out of the way when you don't need

I used an AL 350# rated folding ladder. It is a Louisville AL228P100 model. It is very stable for the 10' rise. For the "light" storage items I cut an access hole in the floor and put a hand winch at the peak. I can flip over the deck in the attic and bring up to a 22"W X 54" load. It is working out pretty well as long as I keep the "light" storage in mind.

Here's my loft stairs in the down position... to raise the HF hoist just pulls them up and out of the way. The stairs started life as a roller set like at HD.

Yup, like that.
And then you can use the winch to lift heavier items uo top as well
