I'm putting pole barn metal on my ceiling and I need to plan my attic access. What is the best way to frame and finish attic access thru a metal ceiling. 4 ft between trusses.

I'm having trouble getting good results from my searches.

Thanks

Cut one of the sheets 4' short but put both pieces up. The 4' piece is your access. No trimming an opening and for the few times you will be up there pulling a half a dozen screws is no big deal.

I made a 3 ft hole and use a piece of 4ft piece of the ceiling metal to cover it, 13ft ceiling poke it with the ladder to move it.

I left one section out at one end of my shop. (3x4)

Slip the panel into the J for the walls, screw it down.

Not fancy, But I didn't want the trimmed version because I wanted it to blend in, not stick out.

Very easy to do.

Also, after blown in, I just made a big plug from 2 or 3 pieces of 2" foam that is a friction fit in the opening.
