I know it looks bad that is why I need some expert input. I want my attic lift to be 49.5” wide by 27”. I would like my rails on the outside two 2x4s. I plan on 4 or 5 - 49.5” long 2x6s across the wall studs to give some weight distribution. I can also add two 2x10s for headers. I know I will need to support the 4 rafters before cutting. I could cut three rafters and move the rails inside the platform but would prefer the rails to be on the outside. The picture is from another member is similar to what I would like, my pcitures showing cuts follows. . Any suggestions?
