Hello everyone My name is Phillip . I need help finding a manufacturer of 32ft attic truss. I'm looking to build a shop that was to be 34ft clear span with 14ft walls. They are telling me it can't be done without using a steel Ibeam. I know I have seen the truss used on the site by others. I'm in Tn and need the truss to meet local codes. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Your post is a little confusing. Why are you looking for 32 ft trusses if you want 34 ft clear span?

If by attic truss you mean you want an open center for attic space then your expectations of the open space may be more than is practical.

Local codes should not be too tough in Tennessee. You should find local truss manufacturers and talk to them. If you have done that with more than one then there's an exceptional condition you aren't mentioning, such as a high expectation of floor loading in the attic.

If may be cheaper to build without attic storage, if that is one of your goals, by building a larger building.

I’m in New Jersey. My barn is 36 ft wide with 12” overhangs all around. My trusses are engineered gambrel clear span with 16’ wide attic the length of the building. 2x10 bottom chord. They are on 2ft centers

Thank you for your replies. Sorry for the confusion, I had planned to build 34ft wide and the lumber company said that it couldn't be done clear span. So I went to 84 lumber and yesterday they said they could do it but at 30ft wide. So I guess it will have to be 30ft.

What you are saying just makes no sense. You can build a clear span much more than 30 ft, but you need to talk to a truss company, not a lumber company. But if you're happy with a 30 ft building then you're done. Tapout187 said his was 36 ft.
