Hi Hiball,

Can/do you know and have parts for pallet jacks? 30 bucks local to me.

http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/tls/3784328678.html

Says: 5500 lb. PALLET JACK FOR SALE. DOES NOT WORK. NEEDS REPAIR.

LIFTS BUT LOWERS RIGHT AWAY.COULD BE AN EASY FIX.

NOT SURE AND DONT WANT TO MESS WITH IT.

If I can get parts from you, I may just pick it up.

Thanks! Dave

Hmmm, I've worked on pallet jacks that just had the handle linkage chain not adjusted correctly, causing the bleed off valve to release pressure when the handle was in the pump position. Just a thought...

I imagine that it would not be hard to get parts local to you, any hydraulic place would have all the seals and such you would need. Can't imagine a problem with the hard parts that wouldn't be solved easily

yep!

worth every penny if ya need one, likely an adjustment issue or a piece of trash where it ain't supposed to be.

Bishamon 55... 99.9% of the time its the Main seal that is Compromised, and Joe Blow grabs his tool belt and starts making adjustments on the Valve system, as those adjustments dont just fall out of spec. I buy the majority of my Pallet Jack parts from Generic Parts. Com, its hard to beat there prices on seal kits.. And that is my recommendation to you. It's a good hydraulic design.. $30 bucks is cheap enough, double check the wheels and such as they get pricey when replacements are required.

If you can fix it for $30 and you have the time, go for it. But there are a lot of used pallet jacks in So Cal so if you can wait you can probably find a working one for slightly more (presuming you are near LA, OC, or San Diego). The coolest one I saw lately was an Allis Chamlers manual pallet jack with brakes for $75. The brake option was pretty nice - just push down on the handle to actuate. Good Luck!
