It reads: "LOS ANGELES / MFG U. S. A/ PAT. NO. 2007432"
Here's some info on that patent:

Website says it was first filed in the early 30's, so if we modestly assume that the tool was manufactured in the late thirties or early forties, it is potentially 70 years old.
