Hey There!
Been lurking for many moons, but finally need to seek the wisdom of the board...
Trying to remove an ATV tire, but the 11" rim is kicking my A$$...

The bead is completely broken, and i'm using the drop center

i can't seem to get the bead that last 1/8" of an inch over the duckhead, before the iron completely bottoms out on the other side of the rim.

I've tried all the different shaped irons i have, but no dice.
Any tips

ATV tires are apparently more difficult than expected.
I had a similar issue with tires for my son's little 90 cc atv.
After striking out with a cheap set of tire irons and even using my trailer and a small floor jack to break the bead
from the rim, I finally gave up and paid someone $25/tire to mount them.
At least you're smart enough to use the proper tools, which is more than I can say.....

I had one of my ATV tires off yesterday to patch a thorn hole - absolutely no problem dismount or mount (Yamaha Grizzly). That said... I could be totally wrong about this, but I don't see an obvious drop center up near the top of your rim. It kinda looks like the drop center is at the bottom. Try flipping the wheel upside down on the tire machine. Some rims are made with the drop center "backwards" of normal.

Good Point: I will check that out...
these rims are pretty wide, so the drop center is about 3" below the bead.

can see it better in this pic.

I assumed the drop section was centered on this rim, but i'll look from the other side to see if it's possibly offset.

Thanks

I know the pain. but i'm getting old, and running low on elbow grease.

Had i known how affordable tire machines had become, i would've gotten one a long time ago.
The pair (machine and balancer, delivered) cost about the same as one months child support (not kidding).

Single best investment I've made in years (possibly my lifetime).

Glad I was able to help, and it was an easy fix. Yeah, totally agree that tire machines are super handy. I use mine a fair amount. Next, I need to get a good balancer.
