The U.S. Agricultural Research Service Laboratory was constructed during the late 1950s,and consists of approximately 25,601 square feet of laboratory, office, storage and associated support areas on an approximately 2-acre site. The laboratory conducted research in food science and postharvest areas on fresh and processed tropical and subtropical fruits and vegetables.
