Last Saturday I went to an auction at a local indy auto repair place. The owner had supposedly passed on and they were making a complete liquidation. I wasn't doing anything so I went. The tool selection looked pretty picked through, my guess either they had some sort of yard/tool sale that I missed, or a ton of stuff walked.
Anyway there were a few things I was interested in so I stayed. Picked up a commercial mop & bucket combo for $5. Later, I thought I was buying a case of grinding disks, but they were holding up the wrong box so I ended up with a bunch of bench grinder stones for $25 bucks. I noticed early on that there was a plan cardboard box with a bunch of tools dumped out inside. Screwdrivers, T-handle wrenches, wire crimper tools, an IR cutoff tool, and some grinding discs. Some of the stuff was Snap-On, so I figured what the heck and bought the box.
I also notice that there are three lifts in the garage, and only 2 are for sale. There is caution tape around one of them, and I just thought that maybe the auction company put that there to let people know that it wasn't for sale. Later on I asked about it to some random guy and he told me that it was still considered a crime scene. It seems that the guy who owned the shop, was working on a truck and it fell off the lift killing him. Wow. It really changed my perspective about the sale after that....
Didn't get much of anything else, except for two 3/4" x 24" x 36" flat pieces of steel that are going to make perfect bench top workspaces for $20
Some guy asked me to help him load 3 carts onto his truck, and as payment I got a case of steak paper, a box of large colored foam core board sheets (for the wife, she is a teacher), a yellow oil drain pan, and a box of rags, all were included in the lot of carts and he didn't have room for them.
When I got home I got right to sorting out the box of parts. There is a ton of stuff I have never seen before in this box. Most of it appears to be aviation grade type of electrical tools for making wire harnesses. Here is a sample of some of the stuff. When I get a chance I'll post up some more:
Some Wire Wrap tools:
A whole boat load of Daniels Manufacturing wire crimper tools:
Some pin extraction tools:
Let's not forget the wire strippers:
Cable wrap gun:
I'll have to get some more pictures tonight....there was just so much to catalog, that I didn't get through it all yet......there are about 6 of these Snap-on torque 1/4" hand drivers. There are calibration stickers all over them so it's hard to read the model numbers.
