Just picked up my tools from a local on-line auction. The tools consisted of an 18" Rothenberger cast pipe wrench, a 10" Ridgid cast pipe wrench, 12" logger's wedge, all metal hatchet, and a nail puller/pry bar. Total cost $11.81
Looks like it was a $10 bid with a 10% seller's fee + tax, nice deal. I've been watching the online surplus auctions around Houston, but there's just too many people here doing the same things. I hate how other states seemingly have hardly any competition on some of the stuff lol.
I feel your pain. I've seen auction junk sell for more than retail pricing.
It was not a state sanctioned public surplus auction but rather a private auction run by one of seemingly too many on-line auction sites. I shouldn't ***** about it as I like getting good deals. This auction was a short drive across the border into Minnesota. I have also attended hardware store auctions where the price tags are still on the item and yet people have bid higher than marked retail.Looks like it was a $10 bid with a 10% seller's fee + tax, nice deal.
