Some of you may remember my garage that I posted pictures of before I actually owned the house. If not here is a reminder.

I know everyone here has a bottle of WD40 in there garage. I just happened to have an extra water bottle holder and figured out it is a great way to keep the wd40 nearby:

You can get a waterbottle holder for a bicycle just about anywhere for less than $10.

The most challenging part of the build was painting the ceiling. I didn't even think to have the drywall guys popcorn it while they had their scafolding in there. It took the guy almost two weeks to tape and mud the garage. It took me another week to get it painted because of the 14' ceilings.

The storewall system I have on the southwall is great. I think it was $50 for an each foot section. it is made out of some kind of plastic so moisture and weight do not really affect it.

Love the strut tower brace!!! you are making better use of it than 99% of the folks who buy them...
You've given me an idea for two obsolete harness bars I've got lying around.

Be glad you didn't. That **** is a pain to clean when it gets greasy garage dirt and dust on it.

Very nice garage -- good job at organizing everything off the floor and onto the walls. Keep the pics coming -- love it!

The helicopter is a Honeybee CP2 with superskids installed. There is a reason it is sitting up there they are impossible to fly! I have a fancy simulator on my computer and can do a decent job flying them there. unfortunately that does not translate to real life.

YES the motorcycle is RC. It was made by Tyco a couple years ago. It has some kind of balancing system that actually keeps it on two wheels. Also has a headlight and working brake light.

The lights are from menards they are the ONLY ones that sell them. I think they work better than any other energy efficient bulbs I can find.

Where did you get the bike holders for the MNT bikes?
Who, What where and how much

UPARMS

The mtn bike holders are just cheap wall mounted holders from Home Depot I think they were 12 dollars at most. I did compare them to some bike shop purchased holders at work and found the more expensive ones from work sag.
I added a bolt near each one so I could lock them. I know a theif could just unsrew the bolt but at least it prevents a kid from running in a taking my bike off the wall. I also put the more expensive bike on top :)

How do you like those Chamberlain openers? My in-laws live next door and my son parks his car in their spare garage put the door doesn't have an opener on it. I've looked at those Chamberlain kits but wasn't sure...

I bought a few of those cheapo shoe holders like you have your gloves in. They're awesome for small parts and spray cans, and I love the fact that they're clear, and you can easily see what's in them.

From what I can tell from reading on the board Chamberlain makes the Sears garage door openers also.

I am REALLY happy with their product. Their website is great and they have a bunch of neat accessories. Their prices range from $120 to $220. if you do not have much space between the garage ceiling and the door when it is up the kit comes with almost everything you need to install the opener.

Because i had a four foot gap I had to go buy angle iron to mount my openers. I also had to extend the wires for the door eyes and push button. While you are at the hardware store buy a 2x6 to mount as a header board. This is what your track will mount to on your garage wall. Also buy a handfull of LAG BOLTS. They are thick and super strong (you will find other uses for them). Another thing I found at menards were garage door braces. They mount to the complete verticle height of your top garage door panel. This helps distrubute the pulling forces of the door opener. If your doors are over seven feet Chamberlain makes one opener with 8 ft standard and there other openers can be extended to lift 8 foot doors. Extensions are about $50 and just replace a couple parts in the original kit. If you don't care if your door hangs down a little (shows in the opening) you can skip the extensions.

for the price you go from:

1. Chain (cheapest/noisiest)
2. Screw (middle of the road)
3. Belt (more expensive/quietest)

Some other things you will see change are Horsepower, Number of light sockets and style of the push button they give you (door bell style compared to button with light control). Note cheaper ones do not include an outside door punch pad. Because I bought mine at Menards it included a ceiling mounted laser.

I found that buying the opener from Menards usually included at least one free upgrade. I bought both of mine there one for $220 and one on sale a month later for $178. Both included ceiling mounted lasers that were not included anywhere else.

For $28 I added door sensors that tell me inside the house when the garage doors are open. The part that mounts to the door itself is small and sticks on with two sided tape.

Another option is adding a remoted socket that can be controled by your opener remote. (i really want this)

If I had a chance to do it all again I wouldn't change a thing. Hope that helps.

PS the prices were my best guess from memory.:headscrat
