Yeah gravity ***** some times, but as you said it could have been a lot more serious, good luck with a quick recovery.

Terrick, it's lucky you live down under. Here in the states the police get notified every time someone shows up at the hospital looking like that. Mine was just a tree branch pruning gone wrong. Didn't lose sight but the artificial lens got dislodged so the pupil is permanently dilated. Means sunglasses outdoors and even indoors where they have super bright lighting. Good luck with your recovery up top and down below as well. Here's looking at you!

Well I just spent 20 minutes trying to do a multi quote...will try again later.
Well the grandbaby is due on the 22nd, so far it is ahead on weight and size (not helpful for my DIL as she is a little girl) But so far all going well. I had to pull out the office and wardrobe room in the shed and that is now their room, we moved the big fridges (live out of town) into the garage and the office is now in their old bedroom. SO things are very hectic.
As for hurting myself....site happens! When I was welding the beams in place the scaffold plant slipped and left me hanging onto the beam I had just finished welding, got a nice 4" long scar just below the wrist. The scaffold planks (12' up in the air) are now clamped to the frames!

Looks like you are starting to heal. No retina or lens damage? Hope not, and you are back to 100% soon. The build is coming along nicely by the way.

Cheers,

Ken

So far so good, doesn't look like it sustained any damage. Yes under the hammer to get the house finished, not only for the baby, but my daughter has asked to come home in April, so she can sell her apartment and build a house not far from here. No pressure.....blablabla.

Just a quick note to all around this wonderful planet of ours.
If you have a festive season about to start, then please enjoy, be happy, and love those around you. But also be safe while travelling.

Well what a couple of weeks it has been, MRI's, CAT scans, top to toe bone scan, more MRI's and next week a PET scan, But the Doc says it is looking good, no sign of cancer anywhere else SO FAR. That makes me happy.

What makes me unhappy is when someone drives a ute up our driveway 150m long and slowly cruises the front of the house and up to the hoist area and drives off. My heavily pregnant DIL got to the door as they pulled out the driveway. With the setting sun it made it hard for her to identify the make etc. So after my son had been talking about this to one of his friends, the suggestion was made to replace the 15 year old black and white 4" monitor with multiple colour cameras and a 1 terabyte hard drive. So he gave us some guidelines and we went looking. Got a good deal on 4 Swann cameras etc. Over 3 nights got all the wires run and the monitor set up, pretty happy so far. Just have to buy a really long cable to connect the HD to the modem. That will have to wait till next week.

This is my first go at this. SO be gentle....

Hey Terrick, good to hear that you don't appear to have other cancers.

I've just installed a new camera system as well - pretty happy with it so far.

I get email alerts whenever a person or vehicle moves within the set area (I'm still fine-tuning the area) - the set-up is a bit tricky, but worth the effort.

Tricky would be an understatement!
Finding a 3m long cable to connect to the modem first. The second camera has the edge of the shade sail constantly moving in the wind. So that one will be time consuming. I got the white bullet cameras with great night vision, can even see the night bugs and moths.

Good news on the scan results mate.

I've been putting up some new cameras recently too. I've got about half a dozen now, each progressively better over the years. Very much a home brew setup, which makes it much more "fun". .

I have 4 different types of camera, two different NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices, PoE network switches and wireless access points on an integrated network management system, and different software running on various PCs, phones and tablets.

There's something nice about everything coming from the same company, but it might get a bit boring when everything just works all the time.

Terrik: great news on the tests coming up empty so to speak and not finding any more issues. take care of that old bod and maybe make a few changes in your diet if you need to. best of luck

Hopefully the UTE stopping by was maybe looking for you to be working outside and not a theif, but it never hurts to be on top of it with the security so hope that the new stuff works better.

take care

Welcome, ladies and gentleman of this wonderful planet called Earth.
Please allow me to introduce my Grandson, his name is Spencer. Arrived yesterday at 9:06am. His wonderful mother had a few complications after giving him life, but has been treated magnificently by the doctors and nurses at Canberra hospital. I was really worried about her health for a couple of nerve racking hours. She is making a great recovery. I am so happy that I could get up on a podium ( not that I am over religious) and preach to all about wonders of life for an hour or two at least.
My dear son is very quickly realising what I meant a few weeks ago when I said to him while we were driving between jobs, " From the instant that you hold your child in your hands, your life has changed forever"
I have to go and do a couple of breakdowns this morning and then I am going to buy him his first toy car.

Hope you all are going to have a great day....But please remember for this and all festive times "Think before you drink", so everyone gets home!

Terrick, congratulations on your first grandson. Spencer is a great name -- I'm biased because my oldest grandson is named Spencer. His first son is due any day and I look forward to meeting my second great-grandson.
