Been a while amongst posts but here I am back again. Got myself a little run about for $1000 from an online auction. So sure it was a busted beyond repair that I purchased it to break down for parts to on-sell. Once I got it home and started to check it over starting with a full safety check and service I found nothing significantly wrong. The worst item was I think I was the first to replace the spark plugs... ever (221,000km). So after that it ran sweet., changed a couple of suspension bushes, accessory belt, couple of globes and done. Great little car.

Any way back to the shed. I finally finished lining the shed and getting the led light panels up. I am very happy with the lighting it is shadowless and as clear ans being in the daylight. However it showed how unfinished the cupboards and draws were. The wife got sick of walking into the "half finished shed" and the mis-match of cupboards. As seen below, and she came up with an idea.

So I used the left over decking timber (spotted gum) and cleaned it up.

Still have the handles to go on, but that can wait until next weekend. As I am busily working on finishing the outside cladding of the walls. The lovely sees the outside off the shed and was getting tired of the half finished painted cement sheeting, so I was tasked to finish it off. Those palings are one inch wide separated by an inch, each has to be stained and sealed and then glued and screwed. It is a hell of a task but it looks a lot better from inside the house now.

Steady on I have a day job ;)

A little is done. But a lot planned this weekend. Will take photos.

Well after my smart arsed comment I missed taking photos before I had to travel for work. The wife says that she will paint the shed wall for me while I am away..... not sure that is a good thing.

Well finished travelling for the year, then Christmas and New Year, and the rest. Finally got into the shed. And had a good look at the paint colours the wife chose.

Not too bad, not what I would have chosen but he lovely said this is the most "blokey" colour scheme she is willing to go.

So I got the floor colour to match the kick board as best I could. Still another coat to go. But had to start putting up the memorabilia I have had stored for years.

As a thanks for painting my shed I made up some garden art out of some 316L stainless sheeting, matching sketch the wife made. Not too bad of a job from a distance, and SWMBO seems to love it (so the quality control is ideal)

Happy New Year to Everyone, and I hope you had Santa visit. Going to get another week to work on the shed before I have to go back to work.

Thanks folks, been working away in the shed getting it just right.
The shed is coming along inside, and you can see that the main area is not really for messy work, but behind the wall is my welding and mess bay.

However, something is still missing.........

David, simply stunning..

Regards

DW, is the "something missing" sitting under a cover outside?

Sort of under the covers, but not outside (just in the front garage... under a cover). Now in the spot where it should be.

This is my work area, a little on the small size but does for now. It has a three phase extraction fan that is just awesome at removing fumes dust and engineering plans that aren't held down.

This is the view back to the house where the ladder is almost constantly mounted getting pool toys and balls of the roof.

Very Cool! I do like how it doesn't look at all like a standard garage. Blends into your backyard very well. nicely done

That will be the wife's design ability, she wanted a nice backyard and I needed a shed. However those wooden slats are put up one at a time with stainless screws. All 2.3km worth... no that I was counting ;)

I like how there is no driveway the grass has grown up through a supporting structure. I was suss that it wouldn't work, but it has been a treat and put up with a lot of abuse. Mind you parking the trailer on it over winter did kill the grass.

Sitting in it right now enjoying a beer and surfing GJ........

I love this build, the modern architectural design of the shed is awesome, so much better than most of the sheds you see.

I love the car too, are you able to share some more details about it?

The wooden slats really set it off. As the all dark grey look it started as I wasn't 100% sure about it. But now I'm convinced, Love it! Definitely worth the effort of putting up all 2.3km

Thanks, Whilst the shed looks pretty good, it cost a lot more and took a lot longer to build than a normal framed weatherboard or steel shed. However, to get wife's approval I had to up the aesthetics.
The car is my own design and constructions. It is a tube framed, mid engine with an albins sequential transaxle. The engine is a V6 Twin Turbo originally nissan, but there is not much nissan left. It goes like stink, but at the moment needs a new rear wheel bearing for some unknown reasons.

Thanks. Yeah the whole black dark grey thing used to get the mates chanting Space Odyssey 2010 theme to me, (the monolith).

Those of us in the maritime employment don't refer to these as boats they are ships. (boats go in/on ships or are tugs or a submarines). Just a little TIC. But the ships is an Australian LHD, it is the HMAS CANBERRA. A quick google will give you a whole heap of info to save me typing. But, happy to give any specifics (within reason).

Thanks for the kind words on the little one. She still has some way to go, but we are no longer on "alert 5" to go to ER. In time she will become a normal child, but not in the near term.

Looking great! Well done on the landscaping and making everything blend in nicely.

Thanks, it was a lot of work. And, whilst it looks fantastic and will last for years. (just check out the frame work and concrete slab required!!) I not sure I would recommend or re-attempt the same thing again. I spent far too much time on cosmetics and working on the shed instead of in it. However I would do a bifold instead of a roller door again. About the same price if you stick to a standard size, and shop around.

Sorry I mean next time I would do a bifold door, again. Standard size makes them comparable in price to a roller door, with the benefit of properly sealing the weather out and not impacting the over head space.

Yeah the V12 are for a the next project. Still working on the concept design so it will take a little time..... will show all when I am past the conceptualising stage.

:)

Same for me. Myself I am from generations of farmers as far back as we know. Then I broke the sequence by joining the Navy.
